Lydia Perakis (Λυδία Περάκη) is a personal trainer, dancer, educator and producer. She who loves experiencing the world through her body, bringing people together and all things art and storytelling! She is the founder of ESTIA Creative Home and currently trains and mentors students of all ages and backgrounds. She was raised in the Greek island of Crete and lives in Brooklyn.
Education:
BFA in Dance from NYU-Tisch School of the Arts with a minor in Mental Health Studies
Yoga Teacher Certification (200-hour, Loom Yoga Center)
Personal Training Certification (National Council on Strength and Fitness)
Multiple workshops on intuitive leadership, somatic practices, trauma-informed teaching, pedagogy and facilitation trainings
Her dance work has been presented in venues such as the Danspace Project, Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center, Green Space, Mignolo Arts Center, Jennifer Muller/The Works Studio, SMUSH gallery, the Current Showcase, Bridge for Dance and the Queens Outdoor Dance Festival,
She has been an Artistic Associate with Dance Action/Carmen Caceres and has worked with choreographers such as Jeremy Nelson, Christina Robson, Luis Lara Malvacías, Elizabeth Dishman, Arnie Zane (re-staged), the Yonis., Kinetics with Karley and Sarah Mitchell.
Her event & stage management experience includes working in venues such as the New York Live Arts, the Center for Performance Research and the Soho Playhouse.
